Purposefully Re-purposing

What to do with a dress that’s too tight, pallets that are blocking the driveway and a broken necklace chain?

If you live in my house you find a new use for them.

The dress with a too tight top became a waistcoat…

How did that ever fit right round the front? It must have shrunk in the wash!

The pallets are now;

a useful salad growing box…

a piece of wall art..

and, after following online ‘make your own driftwood’ instructions, then buying some industrial style wall hooks, a coat rack…

The old necklace chain?

A couple of charms and a cowrie shell later…

So I’ve had a bit of a rubbish week!!

A couple of months ago I shared some photos of a charity shop window in town. Here’s another. This one is so bright and inviting that it was packed. I had to take the photo on my way home because there were so many people taking things out of the window to buy.

I love red so this looks a treat. Shame about the glare but you get the idea.

Have a great weekend.

  1. The best link of week-I would have never thought of the wall art-what a great idea. I hope you link up with the pic of the red waist coat because that is just what I did for this month too. I took a maxi dress and turned it into a vest. Take care-this was so much fun to read. It’s like we are on the same wavelength sometimes.

    I love the little waistcoat you made and the driftwood artwork is fabulous! No wonder that charity shop was busy with such a tempting display. Xxx

  4. I love seeing a charity shop with a good vibe!
    I was thinking of painting that wall, it looked drab. The driftwood was so easy and it’s livened it up a bit. xxx
